• Wedding reservation times are usually on Friday at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM and Saturday at 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM and 6;00 PM. Rehearsal times may usually be scheduled starting at 5:15 PM.

• The Chapel, Mass vestments, wine and hosts, and the assistance of a chapel coordinator are provided at both the rehearsal and the wedding. You obtain the priest or deacon and organist and vocalists.

• The interviews, marriage instruction forms and dispensation and preparation are to be taken care of by a priest of the bride’s parish, the officiating priest, or in the case of a non-Catholic bride, by a priest from the groom’s parish. The place of Baptism is notified by The Shrine Chapel after the wedding ceremony. Necessary delegation for the wedding will be obtained by the Shrine Chapel.

• Rehearsals are scheduled in the order they come in. The chapel coordinator attends both the rehearsal and the wedding. The chapel coordinator will answer questions and prepare the Chapel for the ceremony. Please request your priest/deacon to be at your rehearsal. The total time allotted the rehearsal is not to exceed 45 minutes. We ask everyone to arrive promptly at designated rehearsal time, as the 45 minute period begins at the scheduled time. Also, the total time allotted for using the chapel for the wedding is 2 hours only. No exceptions.
• Pictures may be taken at the discretion of the officiating priest/deacon. Pictures may be taken in the Shrine Chapel following the mass/ceremony, but no longer that 20 minutes as not to interfere with any functions scheduled after the wedding.

• Receiving lines are not permitted at The Shrine Chapel including dismissal of guests from pews.

• No rice, confetti, petals, bird seed, etc., are to be thrown anywhere on campus or in the chapel.

• It is the responsibility of the bridal couple and not of the Orchard Lake Schools to present any stipend to the officiating priest or deacon. The Orchard Lake Schools do not recommend the amount to be offered.

• The Chapel will accommodate 700 guests.

• Use of candles is limited only to candles in the sanctuary provided by the Orchard Lake Schools. Candles and holders provided for - - one each side of the Blessed Mother - - 4 on the main altar - - 4 on the back altar. There are also 2 stands that hold 11 candles each. However, a single, thick unity candle supplied by the bridal couple may be used and set on the altar with no stand, or bring own stand. Pew candles are not allowed. You are kindly requested not to tape bows or flowers to the pews. They may be tied or wired.

• The length of the main aisle for the runner is 96 feet. There are 24 pews up the center aisle on either side plus one on each side at the front with no kneeler.

• Please give your marriage license to your priest or deacon at your rehearsal.

• The Orchard Lake Schools are unable to offer assistance in locating soloists, organists, etc. This is the sole responsibility of the bridal party.

• The Orchard Lake Schools shall not be liable for loss by theft, destruction, or damage of personal property of those individuals attending, nor any personal injuries sustained by them while on the premises of the Orchard Lake Schools. Further, clients contracting the activity shall be liable for loss by theft, destruction, or damage to personal property and/or premises of the Orchard Lake Schools by them or their guests. An extra fee will be charged if the chapel is not left in the condition in which it is found.

• The Orchard Lake Schools do not provide reception facilities on the campus.

• We ask you to consider that the flower arrangements used in The Shrine Chapel for the ceremony be left in The Shrine Chapel as a gift to God to adorn His temple. There are 2 wicker waist-high planter holders that can be used for flowers.

• No change of time of the wedding or change of priest is allowed without consulting the Wedding Chapel office at 248-683-1744.

• No liquor or any type of beverage is permitted in the chapel or on the premises before or after the marriage. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the Shrine Chapel.
